Bhavana debuted in Malayalam film Nammal opposite newcomers like Siddharth, Jishnu and Renuka Menon. The film was a big success and she got several offers in Malayalam. She won many honours and Kerala State Special Jury Award for the same film. Bhavana was a 11th class student when she got her break in films.[2] She has acted with almost all actors of Malayalam including Mohanlal, Mammootty, Suresh Gopi, Dileep, Jayaram, Prithviraj, Kunchacko Boban, Jayasurya etc. In 2003, she became the part of hit movies like Chronic Bachelor, C.I.D.Moosa, Swapnakoodu etc.
