She lived a life of luxury as a child. She studied in Vendriya Vidyalaya High School in Calicut, was constantly distracted, compelling her 12th standard chemistry teacher to admonish her, and ask to seek a film career. She then went to participate in Miss India contest in 1994, ended by being third in the pageant that was won by Sushmita Sen and Aishwarya Rai.She then appeared in several Bollywood flicks, starting from 'Prithvi' in 1997 through on to 'Nehle Pe Dehla' in 2007.
