Asin as Mammootty's heroine in Shyamaprasad's new film

It was earlier reported that Megastar Mammootty is going to act in the new untitled movie by the award winning director Shyamaprasad. And now, it is hearing that our own Bollywood actress Asin has been approached by the team for playing the lady lead in this film.

According to the reports, Asin is said to have given green signal to be a part of this film and if it happens then it will be a memorable come back for the actress, who started off her film career through Malayalam. Asin debuted a decade ago, through Sathyan Anthicad directed 'Narendran Makan Jayakandan Vaka' and later she has risen to great heights in Indian cinema through her Tamil, Telugu and Hindi films.

This yet to be titled Malayalam film that features Mammootty and Asin in the lead, will be written as well as directed by Shyamaprasad and is said to be a crime thriller that will present Mammootty in a very different role. This new Mammootty-Asin-Shyamaprasad film will be produced by Vindhyan.

K K Rajeev, a well known serial film maker is all set to enter into the Malayalam film industry with a new movie titled as "Njanum Ente Familyum". It should be noted that K K Rajeev was supposed to debut with another movie Chembakaraman, that have Megastar Mammootty and Kavya Madhavan in the leads, but that film didn't take off due to unavailability of Mammootty's dates.

This new Malayalam movie, "Njanum Ente Familyum" features Family hero Jayaram and young actress Rima Kallingal in the lead roles. It also features yesteryear heroine Sheela in a very prominent role. Shooting for this film, produced by Vijayakumar under the banner of Seven Arts, is all set to start within a couple of months.

Mammootty to bring Joshy's youth film 'Sevens' for this Onam

The latest to hear from the Malayalam film industry is that veteran Joshy directed youth film Sevens will hit the theaters all across the state for this festive season of Onam. This happened once it was finalized that there won't be any Mammootty film for this year's Onam and as a result of this Mammootty's distribution company, Playhouse decided to bring this youth film for Onam.

Mammootty's most prestigious film The King & The Commissioner was actually scheduled for this Onam, but once it got realized that the film won't get completed by the time, Mammootty planned to bring his bi-lingual movie Shikaari for the Onam season, but that also failed to do so. Now it's officially confirmed that Megastar Mammootty's this year's Onam gift will be youth film Sevens.

This new Malayalam movie Sevens, directed by Joshy and scripted by Iqbal Kuttipuram features Kunchakko Boban, Asif Ali, Nivin Pauli, Rajith Menon, Vineeth Kumar, Fahad Fazil, Bhama etc in the lead. This new film  Sevens, which is touted as a crime thriller also features Nadia Moidu in a powerful police role. Sevens will release in seventy plus theaters all across Kerala for this Onam..

Prithviraj starring new Malayalam movie Masters gets launched

New Malayalam movie Masters that features Big star Prithviraj in the lead has been launched in style. The launch ceremony alias the big Pooja of this new Malayalam movie was held recently in Kochi in which Mammootty, Blessy and so many others from the Malayalam film industry took part.

This new film Masters, directed by Johny Antony is all about male bonding. It is about two bosom friends, played by Prithviraj and 'Subramaniapuram' fame Sasikumar, who try different ways to fulfill their social responsibility. Tamil actress from Mumbai Piaa Bajpai would play the heroine in the film along with Ananya.

Masters features a well written script by Jinu Abraham and it is being produced by V Sharathchandran under the banner of Sincere Cinema. The cinematographer is Madhu Neelakantan while Pattanam Rasheed will do makeup. The shoot of the film will start from August 10.

Saji Surendran again with Jayasurya in the lead, new Malayalam movie Kunjaliyan

Young Malayalam director, Saji Surendran, well known for his comedy filled family entertainers is now all set to start his new movie, Kunjaliyan. This new Malayalam movie Kunjaliyan will once again feature his close friend and upcoming star Jayasurya in the lead.

Just like Saji Surendran's previous three films, this upcoming Malayalam film Kunjaliyan too will have script written by Krishna Poojappura. In this film Jayasurya will play the youngest brother to three sisters. When the sisters get married he gets bestowed the titled 'Kunjaliyan'. The film would be produced by Tomichan Mulakupadam under the banner of Mulakupadam Films. The rest of the cast and crew are being finalised.

Out of Saji Surendran's previuos three films, Ivar Vivahitharayal, Happy husbands and Four Friends, first two films were super hits whereas his last release Four Friends was a total disaster at the box office. So the director, who is in need of a conventional hit film is taking this film much seriously and is expecting to bounce back from his recent set backs.

After Ore Kadal, Mammootty back again with Shyamaprasad

After the critically acclaimed Malayalam film Electra, that featured Nayan Thara, Prakash Raj, Manisha Koirala etc in the lead, notable director Shyamaprasad is now all set to start his new Malayalam movie, that will have our own Megastar Mammootty playing the lead role.

According to some close sources, this yet to be titled new Malayalam movie, which is planned as a crime thriller by director Shyamaprasad will feature Mammootty in a very different role. Apart from direction, this new Mammootty film will also be scripted by Shyamaprasad himself. This new Mammootty-Shyamaprasad film will be produced by Vindhyan, and this is for the third consecutive time that Vindhyan is producing a Shyamaprasad film.

It should be noted that both Mammootty and Shyamaprasad are joining together after their much acclaimed film Ore Kadal in 2007. That film Ore Kadal have bagged several awards for various categories including the best actor award for Mammootty. So, everyone from the Malayalam film industry are eagerly waiting for this new film, which is widely expected to become a class film in aspects.

Salt N Pepper, new Malayalam movie that released on this Friday had hit the bulls eye and is turning out to be yet another surprise hit of this year. Aashiq Abu to direct Mammootty for the new Malayalam movie 'The Gangster'

The latest to hear from the Malayalam film industry is that Megastar Mammootty will soon start his new Malayalam movie with the young as well as promising director Aashiq Abu. Both Aashiq Abu and Mammootty have joined earlier for a movie, named as DaddyCool, but it was a disater at the Kerala box office.

This new Malayalam movie, with Mammootty in the lead and directed by Aashiq Abu is titled as 'The Gangster', and as the title suggests this film will feature Mammootty as a deadly stylish gangster. This is not for the first time that Mammootty is playing the role of a gangster, movies like Samrajyam, Athirathram, BigB etc were some of the his hit films in the same genre.

Even after the failure of his debut film, DaddyCool with director Aashiq Abu, Mammootty kept his faith in the director and asked him to come up with another powerful script and once the story line impressed Mammootty, he told Aashiq Abu to go ahead with it and now almost the entire script is complete, which is being written by two newcomers.

Director Aashiq Abu is planning to make this new movie 'The Gangster' in a stylish way, which is also planned as bi-lingual in both Malayalam as well as in Tamil. This film will also feature Tamil actor Parthiban, Rohini Hattangadi etc in the other lead roles and will be one of Mammootty's big film for the next year.

Mohanlal-Padmarajan team's Season to be remade with Prithviraj in the lead

It has been hearing for a long time that Big star Prithviraj is planning to remake the yesteryear Malayalam classic, Padmarajan directed Season. Now, if the unconfirmed news from some close sources are to be believed then Prithviraj is currently holding talks with some notable technicians regarding the remake of this film.

The original version, Season, written and directed by legendary Padmarajan was released in 1989, with a power packed performance by Mohanlal, as Jeevan, the protagonist of this film. This film, that featured a new style of making was a fresh experience for the Malayalam film viewers but it failed to succeed in the box office.

Though the film was not that much successful, this film Season which is basically a revenge story told in an unusual way went on to gather a place for itself in the minds of film viewers. It is hearing that the newer version of Season too will tell the same old story of about the drug mafia in and around Kovalam beach near Thiruvananthapuram.

If the reports are to be believed, then Ulaka Naayakan Kamal Hassan's 1990 hit Tamil comedy film 'Michael Madana Kama Rajan' is now all set to be remade into Bollywood. This Tamil film 'Michael Madana Kama Rajan' is a story about quadruplets - Michael, Madhana, Kama and Rajan and all were played by Kamal Haasan. The movie is directed by Singeetam Srinivasa Rao while Kamal had also written and produced it.

Priyadarshan, who himself is an expert in remaking films from South into Bollywood has always planned to remake this film in Hindi with his mentor Akshay Kumar playing all the four lead roles. Now it's also hearing that the lady director of Bollywood, Farah Khan also is planning the same, but the only change will be that instead of Akshay Kumar, it will be Salman Khan in the lead roles.

Both Priyadarshan and Farah Khan are trying their best to acquire the rights of this yesteryear Tamil film from it's producer, none other than the Kamal Hassan himself. Let's wait and see, among these two who will emerge as a winner and also for the new version of this popular comedy film with either Akshay Kumar or Salman Khan portraying all the four leading characters in this film.

Sanjana replaced Reema Sen in new Malayalam movie 'The King & The Commisioner'

We have earlier reported that Bollywood Beauty Reema Sen will make her debut appearance in Malayalam through the hot and happening film of now a days, The King & The Commissioner. But if the current reports are to be believed then instead of Reema Sen, the producers have signed Kannada actress Sanjana to do the role of a fearless lady cop.

According to some of the insiders from the Malayalam film industry, it is stated that since the film is about "macho men and political conspiracies", there is no need of songs or a heroine and hence the makers felt it that why should they sign a glam girl like Reema Sen, when there are no songs or romance? Sanjana had earlier done a very glamorous role in Mohanlal's yet to be completed Rosshan Andrew's Casanova.

This new malayalam movie The King & The Commisioner will bring back the powerful Joseph Alex IAS from the movie The King and Bharathchandran IPS from the movie The Commisoner. As in the original, this new film will also feature both Megastar Mammootty and Action hero Suresh Gopi in those respective roles.

This new Malayalam film, scripted by Renji Panicker and directed by Shaji Kailas is being produced by Anto Joseph and will reach the theaters by this August 30th.

Amy Jackson to debut in Malayalam through Dileep film Spanish Masala

The latest to hear from the Malayalam film industry is that the 'Madarasipattanam' fame Amy Jackson is going to make her debut in Malayalam through Lal Jose's new film. It was earlier reported that Lal Jose is in a look out for a spanish lady to play the heroine in his new Malayalam movie Spanish Masala.

Now it is confirmed that, instead of a Spanish lady, this London based model and actress Amy Jackson will essay that role. It was reported that director Lal Jose had conducted a search in Spain to find a girl suitable to play the lead, but finally zeroed in on Amy Jackson who is currently doing Gautham Menon's VTV remake in Hindi.​

The story of this new film Spanish Masala is all about a Malayalee immigrant in Spain who falls in love with a Spanish girl. Dileep and Kunchacko Bobban are the two male leads in the film. This film is being scripted by Benny P Naayarambalam and produced by Naushad under the banner of Big Screen Productions.

 The King & The Commissioner is one of the most eagerly awaited film in the recent times. Veteran director in Malayalam film industry, Lal Jose is now all set to start his new Malayalam movie which is to be shot entirely at Spain is titled as Spanish Masala. This new Malayalam movie Spanish Masala features Janapriya Naayakan Dileep in the lead role. Spanish Masala is scripted by Benny P Naayarambalam.

This new film Spanish Masala also features Kunchakko Boban in a pominent role. The other major highlight of this new Malayalam film will be that the director will present a Spanish beauty to don the lead opposite to Dileep. Sathish Kurup, the cameraman of Anwar will be the cinematographer of Spanish Masala, which is now planned to start by the month of July.

Rathinirvedam is now a Super hit

New Malayalam release Rathinirvedham can now be termed as a super hit. Menaka Sureshkumar produced Revathy Kalaamandhir's TK Rajeevkumar directed Rathinirvedham is a remake of Padmarajan-Bharathan 1978 classic by the same name.

It should be noted that this new Malayalam movie Rathinirvedham, which was made on a cost of approximately Rs 1.55 Cr has netted in around Rs 2 Cr (from various rights) even before the release of the film. The television rights of the film was sold before release for Rs 1.50 Cr, overseas, India domestic and DVD/CD rights went for another Rs 50 lakhs.

This new film Rathinirvedham released on June 16, 2011 in 70 screens took an extraordinary opening and collected a whopping Rs 1.15 Cr as distributors share from 70 screens in its first week. As a result of this, it turns out to be a new record that this new Rathinirvedham is now the film that turned 100 % profitable for its producer in the shortest number of days from its release.

This new film Rathinirvedham which has Shwetha Menon playing the iconic Rathi Chechi (Jayabharathi's role in the original) is expected to make a total share of approximately Rs 2.50 Cr during its theatrical run. Producer Suresh Kumar's plan to remake the yesteryear classic Rathinirvedham after a long gap of about 33 years has turned out to be gold.

Piaa Bajpai to debut in Malayalam through Prithviraj film 'Masters'

Yet another non Malayali beauty is all set to make her debut in the Malayalam film industry. This time, it's Piaa Bajpai who shot to fame through her roles in the movies like 'Poi Solla Porom', 'Goa' and the recently released hit film 'Ko'. Her chirpy character as Saro and positive attitude in K V Anand's 'Ko' made her one of the hottest properties in the film world.

Piaa Bajpai, a popular figure in the field through her ads as well as movies will debut in Malayalam through the film 'Masters', that will have Bigstar Prithviraj in the lead. The film also marks the Malayalam debut of our 'Subramaniapuram' actor, Sasikumar who will play Prithviraj's classmate in this film. The friendship and lives of these two heroes, is said to form the crux of this film.

Ranjan Pramod back again with a new film 'Achaayan', Suresh Gopi in the lead

Ranjan Pramod, who was once the most popular script writer in Mollywood, had a disastrous directorial debut with Mohanlal's 'Photographer' a few year's back and following the rude shock suffered due to the fall of his directorial debut film, he decided by himself to stay away from the film fraternity.

Now, the latest to hear from Malayalam film industry is that this well known writer Ranjan Pramod is all set to make his come back into the cinema with a new movie 'Achaayan'. Instead of trying his luck back again as a director, Ranjan Pramod has placed himself in a safer zone, by penning his new script for Dr Janaardhanan of 'Mahasamudram' and 'Sahasram' fame.

Ranjan Pramod is expecting that his new film 'Achaayan' featuring Suresh Gopi in the lead will turn out to be a super hit just like some of his previous super hits like 'Meesa Madhavan', 'Achuvinte Amma', 'Manasinakkare', 'Naran' etc.

Tamil film Avan Ivan going strong worldwide

National award winning director Bala's much awaited Tamil film, Avan Ivan featuring upcoming stars Vishal and Arya in the lead had made an earth shattering opening all across the world. The movie, released all over on June 17, opened to positive response as it is not just another Bala movie, but one that has comedy elements till the end yet a climax one won't forget, with actors who have delivered their best through the project.

Apart from Arya and Vishal, this new Tamil film, Avan Ivan which is also simultaneously released in Telugu as Vaadu Veedu also features Janani Iyer, Madhu Shalini and GM Kumar in the lead roles, and has music tuned in by Yuvan Shankar Raja. According to some reliable sources, in Tamil, this new movie is going strong and the collections are so high that it is next in line to earlier records set by Superstar Rajinikanth's Endhiran.

According to the producers of this film, AGS Entertainments, this movie will cross more than 35 crores of remuneration in the Tamil Nadu itself, which will be a phenomenal achievement by a film, that doesn't feature any big stars in it.

New Malayalam movie 'My name is Avarachan' with Dileep in the lead

Janapriya Naayakan Dileep will don the lead role for a new Malayalam movie titled as 'My name is Avarachan'. This new Malayalam movie, based on the humorous scripts of Sibi K Thoams and Udhaykrishna will get directed by Jose Thomas. Along with Dileep, this new film will also have an elephant in the important role.

This new Malayalam movie 'My name is Avarachan' will be produced by Madhu Warrier and P Sukumar in the banner of colour factory. This film is all set to start it's shoot by the end of next month. Currently, Dileep is acting in 'Mr Marumakan', again written by the same scriptwriters and directed by Sandhya Mohan.

Two of the Dileep starrers, Film star and Orma Mathram, are now waiting to get released within the next one month time.
